Tip Share Terms of Service
Effective Date: 8/1/2025
When you enable tipping for your tournament, you agree to share a portion of the tips collected with Round One ("we", "us", or "our"). This document outlines how that works and the terms you’re agreeing to when you use this feature.
1. Overview
If you enable tipping for your tournament, you agree to share 50% of the total tips collected with Round One.
This fee supports the continued operation and development of the platform, including hosting, support, and ongoing improvements.
Exceptions: In certain cases — such as events hosted by charities, nonprofits, or strategic partners — we may offer a reduced or waived tip share, or allow you to set a custom percentage. These arrangements are granted on a case-by-case basis at our discretion.
2. When Payment Happens
- You’ll choose whether to allow tipping when you create a tournament.
- Players will be able to add tips during registration.
- Before starting the tournament, you must collect all entry fees and tips from all players.
- When you attempt to start the tournament, we’ll calculate your required tip share based on actual tips collected.
- You’ll be required to pay this amount before the tournament begins.
3. Payment Methods
We currently accept (via Stripe):
- Credit and debit cards
- Crypto (USDC)
- CashApp
You’ll see payment options during checkout. All payments are processed securely through Stripe.
4. Refunds
Tip share payments are non-refundable by default, since they are based on tips voluntarily contributed by players and committed when the tournament starts.
However, in rare or exceptional cases (such as technical issues, accidental charges, or events canceled due to circumstances beyond your control), we may offer a refund at our sole discretion.
To request a refund, contact us on our Discord Server or by email at support@round.one within 7 days of the charge. We will review each request individually, but please note that approval is not guaranteed.
5. Your Responsibilities
- You are responsible for accurately reporting and managing any tips you receive from players.
- You are responsible for any local tax obligations that apply to your income, including tips.
We are not your employer, and we do not handle taxes, withholdings, or employment-related obligations on your behalf.
6. Platform Rights
We reserve the right to:
- Block the start of a tournament if tip share payment has not been made.
- Limit your ability to enable tips on future events if unpaid balances exist.
- Adjust or recalculate your owed tip share if we detect errors or abuse.
- Adjust or waive tip share requirements for specific users or events at our discretion.
7. Privacy and Data Use
We will collect and use your payment information in accordance with our Privacy Policy. We do not store sensitive payment details; all transactions are processed securely through Stripe. We use Stripe for payments, analytics, and other business services. Stripe may collect personal data including via cookies and similar technologies. The personal data Stripe collects may include transactional data and identifying information about devices that connect to its services. Stripe uses this information to operate and improve the services it provides to us, including for fraud detection, loss prevention, authentication, and analytics related to the performance of its services. You can learn more about Stripe and read its privacy policy at stripe.com/privacy.
8. Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. We’ll notify you of significant changes via the platform or email. Continued use of tipping features after a change means you accept the new terms.
9. Questions?
If you have any questions about how tip sharing works or need help with a payment, please reach out to us on our Discord Server or by email at support@round.one.
